A lot of red sauces made by Italians will actually have the meatballs or sausage cooking in the sauce simultaneously, so substituting some or all the water for meat (your choice, but I prefer beef) stock for more authentic flavor is desirable to some. Red sauce is about what you like, experiment to find what tastes the way you want it. When I'm in a lazy mood and want sauce and have most of the ingredients, just not my normal contadina tomato puree and crushed tomatoes, I usually do it this way. I never serve this to anyone other than family though, it's too hard to get the acidity flavor out if you make a batch bigger than 3 - 4 servings.įrom your description, the "thing missing" that jumped out at me was salt.Īlso, spices and herbs help give a better, more familiar taste. I've made basic sauce from tomato paste, since it's easy to keep and store - and once I have the can open, I would rather use it than wait for it to go bad while I open a separate tomato sauce. Salt for me is usually the catalytic that makes it go from watery paste to sauce-flavored, for me - and it takes a bit before the result stops tasting watery. Usually, I'm making just a little bit at a time, maybe a half a cup or so (for tortilla pizzas or the like). We encourage all our interns to submit RFEs, (request for enhancements), and bugs to our developers.I usually mix about equal parts paste and water, add a half teaspoon or so of salt, and some dried herbs, whatever I have on hand (italian mix, garlic or onion powder, basil, whatever). All interns are welcome to ask questions of our developers and support staff. Scripting experience for Unity preferred.Īll our interns are expected to work well with minimal supervision. Although not a requirement, familiarity with the Houdini Digital Asset workflow, Houdini attributes, and the Houdini UI would be a plus. In general the candidate should be familiar with optimizing poly counts for runtime, skinning/weighting, making use of mocap data, uv modeling and texturing, and also generating normal maps for low-res polys using a hi-res model. Experience with Houdini and Unity is a must, UDK is a plus. Portfolio should contain examples of game-ready assets and/or environment and level designs. Candidate must have a strong interest in procedural asset creation for games. Games Tech: Interns will work alongside our Santa Monica Games team to create content for our marketing and training initiatives with games studios. Documentation interns explore new areas of Houdini and write up “How To” summaries of the best way to achieve an effect. Some teaching experience is often helpful with this. These interns must have excellent writing skills and be able to explain difficult Houdini terms clearly. Having your asset posted on our Orbolt site is a great way to connect with the best Houdini users and studios.ĭocumentation: Work with our Documentation Team. Some coding skills are useful for this internship. Orbolt Asset Store: Work with our Orbolt team to create more assets for our Orbolt store. Some of the animations are long, and are a team effort of several interns. Some of these animations are short, where 1 intern works on the whole project. Animation/VFX: Work with the Marketing Department to create animations, destruction and effects sims, to showcase new features in Houdini.
